How it works:

The Basic Franzblau Multi Sensory Coordinator combines photosensitive electronic circuitry with the proven technique of tracing mazes, forms and designs. The patient uses one or both light-sensing "pens" to trace a design or touch a target circle on a pattern sheet that is placed on the coordinator's illuminated screen.

If the pen strays from the pattern or does not correctly contact the target, a red light at the top of the pen lights up or an alert tone sounds, and an electronic counter records the error. This multi-sensory feedback not only helps the patient to remain alert, put provides an immediate measure of training success.

Even, diffused illumination behind the pattern sheets is assured by the use of a removable translucent plastic screen on the face of the instrument. The pattern sheets are held securely in place on the coordinator screen by a heavy-duty spring-loaded clip.

The instrument features a digital counter dial, an instant reset button and a mode selector switch on the rear of the case with three response modes:

Training mode - A tone sounds and a digital counter records each "miss" when the sensor pen strays off the black target line or dot
Testing mode - Only the counter is activated

The screen is lit but both the counter and tone are inactive
Fully self-contained, the unit swivels so the screen may be placed at any angle from vertical through 140 degrees. Tilt-lock knobs hold the case securely in position. It operates on standard 110-120 volt a.c. current and draws only 42 watts of power, needing little or no maintenance except for an occasional lamp replacement and periodic cleaning.
